NEW YORK–Drexel Hamilton, LLC, a full-service institutional broker-dealer, announced today the appointments of four experienced Wall Street veterans to the firm. Ian Burgess was appointed as a Managing Director and Head of Equity Sales & Sales Trading; John M. Donovan was appointed Senior Vice President, Municipals; Phyllis Hollis was appointed Senior Vice President, Capital Markets; and Elias Katz was appointed Senior Vice President, Mortgages.

Ian Burgess, an industry veteran with approximately fifteen years of securities industry experience, is responsible for continuing the expansion of Drexel Hamilton’s equity sales & sales trading efforts. Prior to joining Drexel Hamilton, he served as Senior Vice President of Equity Sales at Maxim Group, LLC and as a member of its Research Committee. Previously, Mr. Burgess served as Head of Sales at Morgan Joseph Triartisan, LLC.

John M. Donovan has more than 27 years’ experience in the municipal market with both sales & trading experience. His expertise includes primary and secondary market trading & distribution, relative value trading and hedging strategies, cross market analysis and credit technicals. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Donovan was Senior Vice President/Institutional Sales/Trading at Stern Agee. Previously, he held senior management positions at Piper Jaffray, JP Morgan, Lazard Freres and Citibank. Mr. Donovan began his career on Wall Street as a floor trader at the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Phyllis Hollis has over 20 years’ experience in taxable fixed income. A founding member of the Utendahl Organization, once one of the nation’s premiere full-scale minority-owned financial services institutions, Ms. Hollis was instrumental in building the firm’s Taxable Fixed Income Sales and Trading Department. Previously, she worked as a mortgage       specialist for Salomon Brothers, Bear Stearns and Smith Barney Harris Upham.

Eli Katz is responsible for broadening the firm’s participation in the sales and trading of structured products, including non-agency RMBS, CMBS and esoteric ABS. Mr. Katz started his career at Salomon Brothers in fixed income sales and subsequently helped build structured products sales and trading teams at Daiwa Securities and Deutsche Bank Securities. Mr. Katz was also a principal and portfolio manager at two structured products focused hedge funds, Highland Financial Holdings and Premium Point Investments.
