Robert J. Christensen, JrChristensen covers independent U.S. oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) companies for Drexel Hamilton’s research department, bringing 30 years’ sell-side experience in equity research and previous employment in the energy industry which included several years working in the Middle East. He began his career at First Boston Corp and then subsequently worked at several, independent sell-side equity research firms. He is known for his macro-views and supply and demand work on North American natural gas and world oil. He was named a 2000 and 1998 Wall Street Journal All-Star for stock picking in the E&P and Utility (natural gas pipelines) sectors respectively. Industry experience prior to entering the financial sector was with Texaco Inc. and a U.S oil service company where he was based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Christensen has a petroleum geology background that has helped him make strong, early and differentiated company calls within specific oil and natural gas plays. Finally, Bob is known for his extensive energy industry and Washington contacts. Christensen has an MBA from the Wharton School in Finance and Accounting (1977) and a BA from Princeton University in Geology (1975).
