Broker-dealer Drexel Hamilton LLC said Gloria Vogel and Richard Whittington joined as senior vice presidents, while Barry Sine arrived as director of research.

Vogel will concentrate on equity research in the insurance industry. She has covered investor relations, credit analysis and private equity investments at Swiss Re and also worked at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. and Bear, Stearns & Co.

Whittington will provide research analysis for the aerospace and defense sectors. He was a senior managing director in JSA Research Inc.’s technology team and had been Caris & Co.’s director of research and an analyst at American Technology Research. Before that, he was a managing director and senior semiconductor analyst at Banc of America Securities LLC since 1999. Prior to BofA, Whittington was a general partner at his own technology hedge fund.

From 1993 to 1996, he was a partner and senior semiconductor analyst for SoundView Technology Group in Stamford, Conn. He was a senior analyst for Gruntal & Co. from 1992 to 1993, for Kidder, Peabody & Co. from 1989 to 1992 and for Prudential Securities from 1984 to 1989. Whittington followed defense electronics companies as an analyst at Prudential Securities and at Argus Research Co. He was also a capital markets analyst for Boston Co. Asset Management LLC.

Sine will oversee equity research, focusing on technical analysis and telecommunications services. He is a director and board secretary of the New York Society of Security Analysts and is a past director of the Market Technicians Association. Previously, he started and built the equity research practice at Capstone Investments.
